The increasing cost of technology, along with diminishing resources created a need for innovative ways to obtain support for Meadville Medical Center and its patients.

As a partial solution, in the early nineties, the board elected to establish Meadville Medical Center Foundation, under the direction of Mr. Larry Yartz and Mr. Robert Muth, for the purpose of acquiring private donor support.  This would assist in the advancement of the medical center.

Since then, Mr. Yartz has retired and Mr. Muth has accepted a position as the Director of Investments for Meadville Medical Center.

Over the years, community support has continued to grow.  Current president, John McCandless, continues to work diligently to promote future growth of the Foundation.
